A report on the assessment of the Colony for the current year has just been issued by the Colonial Treasurer.

Under the new valuation, the rateable value of the Colony has been increased from $29,016,439 to $30,395,447 an addition of $1,379,008′ or 4,75 per cent. The increases were in the city of Victoris, $778,075, in the Hong Kong villages $122,158| andin the New Territories $478,777;
