The Whitsuntide meeting runs from May 26th to 28th, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and there are three competitions running through the meeting. The Bogey Pool will, one imagines, be the most popular of the Tor: there are sure to be over 40 entries for this, to the runner-up can be certain of his 30 per cent. The Medal round is worked under the usual conditions, but is never so popular sa the Bogey Competition; it is of course annoying to put in a net 90, when one would have stood about 16 up if it had been against Bogey. The third item is a best ball fourhal medal 'round. on half combined handicape. One should, or rather twe should, be able to put in about net 65 every time but somebo it does not seem to happen. Still, the winning score in this will prob- ably be fairly good.

All theeb competitions are open

to members and subscribers.

Now that the Summer sesean is upon us, subscribers, naval plic, and anyone else whom it may con- cern, if there is anyone else, are reminded that from May 1st to September 18th the course at an ling is open to them on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. «

NEW PROFESSION FOR WOMEN IN NEW YORK.

The newest profession for women in New York is doing things for people that they dislike doing for themselves.

The discoverer of the idea is Miss Jessie Fanshawe, who opened, an office last year to manage the social, details in the lives of society women. She now has a staff of five assistants.

They made an effort to get in touch with other ex-airmen and the ex-Services Flying Asso ciation was formed, the principal protagonists being Capt. Johnstone and Capt. Chapman. In this way the comradeship of the Great War was continued but later, stimulated by what was going on in Great Britain, a suggestion was made for the formulation of a flying club in Singapore. · A request was made to the Government for capital to start the club and the proposals put for- word were received by the non- official members with their accus- tomed generosity and two machines
