Out of the vessels which arrived here, only. 5 carried cargo for local discharge, which amounted to 1,680 tons, with over 50 per cent. on British steamers. The best return was shown by the arafura, froin Melbourne and Manila, which brought 817- toma chandise for discharge here.
Through freights were carried by 3 vessels out of the 7 which came Into the harbour during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday, Although the tonnage carried was: far below the average, it amounted to 1,040 tons, with only 2,027 tors on 2 British vessels.
The two best returns were regis- tered by the Japanese vessel Borrea Maru and the 3.3. Arafura (British). The former arriving from Bombay and Singapore had 3.400 tons, and the latter 1,492 tona from Melbourne and Manila.

Vessels arriving too late for in- elusion in the morning statement yesterday, were the Nyanza (Bri tish) from Kobe and Shanghai with only eleven tons of cargo "for Incal discharge, and 1616 tons for other, parts. The China Navigation Co.'s Kupicho arrived from Tientsin Bain and Chefoo with 2,750 tons of freight for Hong Kong, and also carried 55 tons of general cargo for Canton,
There were 7 arrivals and 18 departures during the period under review. Their nationalities were: British, arrivals and 3 depar ares; German. I arrival and I de parture: Japanese, 9 arrivals and 3 departures: Chinese, arrivals and à departures; American. 3 de-at 30 p.m. on Monday," derelict partures; and Danish, 1 departure. funk, bottom up, was sighted in Latitude 22.383 N. Longitude 115.55 E. The wreck is dangerous to navigation.
