For the twenty-four hours ended at
yesterday there were rivals, or which three were British, one Italian, ono German, ons Japanese and one Chinese. The departures for the same period numbered four, including the as. Huzua Maru tot Swatow. The arrivals to the previous twenty-four hours numbered three, with twelve de partures over the same period.
The total cargo entered for Hongkong for the above period was, 6,23 tonsp vi which the biggest consignments were brought by the as Bornes (2,043 tons) and the 8. Kind Mari (3,950 tons), against 000 tons of cargo entered for Hongkong for the previous twenty-four hours. Cargo for ports beyond totalled 7,950 tons, compared with 4,300 tons the previous day. The combined cargo en- tered came to 13,173 tons, against the Previous entry of,6,900 tons.
The arrivals for the period referred to were the 8.5. Su Yong (British) from Shanghai and Swatow with general cargo and mail; the s.s. Burnt (British) from Haiphong and Haihow with 2,043 tons of general cargo and mail; the 8. Pushuu, (British) from Southampton and Singa pore: the ss. An interesting, arrival during the week-end was the 9. Fashua, a small river steamer of only 9 tons register. which arrived in port on Saturday night from Southampton.
The Fusban has been built by Messrs. John I. Thoryncroft & Co., Ltd., whose Eastern agent, Mr. R. Roxburgh, is at present staying at the Eongkong Hotel. The vessel is for service in the Per reaches of the Yangtze River. She has a mean draft of only 5 feet.

The voyage from Southampton to Hongkong took in all 73 days. but only 3 days were actually spent in steaming.
