Novice Scores Surprise In Lawn Bowls Singles
A comparative newcomer and one who took up the game last season, W. Marshallsay of the Kowloon Docks Club created a big surprise at the Craigengower Cricket Club yesterday when he beat M. N. Rakusen, a former cham- pion, in the Open Lawn Bowls Singles tourna- mont by 21 shots to 14 after 21 haads. Rokusen who won the title in 1940 and was run- ner-up in 1947 was beaten by a bowler who except for the first few heads of the game played a consistently good game that gave him victory which he richly earned.
