Johannesburg, To-day. General Hertzog and Dr. Ma- lan, leader and deputy leader of the Opposition Party, respectiva. ly, Issued a joint statement yes- terday demanding the Immediate summoning of Parliament.
They invite their supporters to hold meetings to protest against the declaration of war against Italy without consulting Parlia- ment and to demand the imme- diate withdrawal of the Union from the war-Reuter,
Foreign issues, it is certain, will be predominant in the party's "platform" which promises to be what is known as a "straddle" that is half FRENCH way between isolationism and the policy of the Roosevelt Administration.
Its outstanding points are likely to be:
RESIDENT'S
A strong stand against involvement of the United LETTER
States in war;
A powerful national defence programme, and Aid for those resisting aggressors but "within the terms broken; her soul remain; she

FATHER TOOK SON TO SUICIDE
The dead body of a 10-year-old boy, Chow | Li Tin-fei, of No. 194, Yuen
Street, was found in the street out- side No: 164, Nam Cheong Street, yesterday.
No doubt. Italy is both: so aerial The father of the child, Li Tin-po, warfare must begin at once; if the job was admitted to Kowloon Hospital is well done and all her industrial and in a critical condition. At that turn, our combined Army in North Africa (and maybe our Near East Army through Lybia) could move. by echelons (steps). to Sicily, Sar- dinia and Italy herself; but sea and sky must be free and the invasion powerful.

Undoubtedly, the situation will have to be met by the Germans who will be obliged to draw more and more Armies from the occupied territories, with incalculable consequences, thus producing a "succion" likely to disor- ganise them among hostile populations; only Vintimille and the Brenner, Pass could allow for the passage of their troops; spots easy to bomb or to block. Furthermore, let us admit that from the start, the Allies have been far too soft; all these months, while we obeyed the rules of the game, the enemy kept on breaking them; did we get any reward for it? not on your life...we became the laughing stock of the neu- trals themslves;
So from now on, let us respect neu- tral rights only if it is our interest to do so. Ex: in the South East of Europe, exists a country, which, short of war, has done everything in her power to help Germany and Italy; in fact she provides both with 2/3 of her food supplies and raw materials (oll, pe- trol. crude oil, corni, wheat etë) so vital to the enemies if they have to con- tinue the struggle,

of the fact that oil and petrol are ab- solutely necessary to both for their Aviation and Mechanised units;
So, from now on, we forbid you to send a single barrel of fuel to them; if you don't agree, we do not intend to declare war on you or invade your country, but every day and night we wells till they are completely destroy- shall bomb your fields, we shall bomb

We control war contraband at sea, why not control it from the air? Who wants the end wants the means,
For this purpose, the Island of Cyprus and the Island of Rhodes (which ought to have been taken, a long time ago) could be turned into the bases for our bombers, following the route of the Dardanelles and Black Sea, to avoid trespassing over other countries.
Last, but not least, Britishers, if you wish to end that war quickly, get a war mentality at once...le: don't say Nazia but "Germans,” get rid of your old maid or sob sisters nonsense (Clacton cemetery scandal); get rid of your P.P.U conscientious objectors and other cowards, if not traitors.
