The oil-ship "Volcella," belong- ing to the Anglo-Saxon Company, has had to put into Coleibo owing Straits & Calcutta to a serious outbreak of typhus on | board. The Chlef Officer, Mr. M. A. Baker, succumbed to the fell disease on April 16 and was buriel at sen. The Captain, Mr. R. G. Pinks, who is seriously ill, and five members of the Chinese crew Dow in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, while three other mem- hers of the crew were reported to- day to be convalescing on board.
