The bridal veil and the long train, the "something old, some thing new, something borrowed and something blue"-always associated with happy brides has come to Doris Kenyon whose lot it has been, In First National films, to appear a bride upon many film occasions.
Miss Kenyon made a particularly radiant bride upon her marriage to Milton Sills on the completion of her latest First National picture, "The Blonde Saint," and had all wed- the accessories that make a ding a success to those who walk down the aisle to the strains of "Lohengrin."
Miss Kenyon, by playing the role of bride in films, has had the rare opportunity of gratifying her vari- ous ideas of correctly dressing the bride.
This year, and during the past few sensons, the bride has been offered a widely varied selection of beautiful bridal costumes,
The vogue of the period gown has brought, perhaps, one of the most unusual and distinguished bridal appearances. The bouffant skirt in satin, tulle or taffeta with silver trimming, the snug bodice and floral decorations in either orange blossoms or old-fashioned flowers are given special place in the period gown. The skirt, very full and broad, shows the tips of the satin slippers, and is without a train, but makes up in its unusual
SOME NEW BUTTONHOLES.
|
Most women came back to the white camellia or gardenia for everyday purposes, because these have the stiffness necessary, to go with tailored garments (says a "Manchester. Guardian writer.) Stiffness and precision are now be ing found in other directions. Flowers are actually being made of china or of glass, coloured to suit the particular occasion. In china, they are particularly successful and look rather like enamel, In glass they have the effect of the glass pins in the hat. They lighten up a black or dark blue coat and give it a certain amount of life, without really having more
pre- tensions than an elaborate button. Some glass flowere are made with bright blue or bright red lines, like a glass marble, and the effect of these is very bright and pretty. A combination of glass and, chin together is found in posies made entirely of beads. These are hard- ly in relief; but are fat circles of tiny flowers made of beads and placed together in strong contrast. Such modela as the forget-me-not are chosen though the natural colouring is by no means strictly adhered to-since they show the petals and a little bright centre. Queer shades of green, violet blues, and magentus all combine to make of the bend posy a distinctly ori- . ginal addition to the tailored dress or suit.

TRIANGLE TAMMIES.
New Vogue In Popular Headgear.
The triangular tam o' shanter is the latest variation of this popular form of feminine headgear, models designed for spring wear being composed entirely of small flowers, and making a distinct change from the felt or duvetyn beret taimies of last season.
The tailored mode has arrived in furs. The couts which are worn for aports are particularly straight in their appeal and lend a trim smart appearance to the season of furs.

There are many new pelts to dia- tinguish this season's coats from those of other years. Nowhere does the appeal of furs exert so strong an influence as upon the campus. Tawny tones and interesting furs prove a combination of vital in- terest.
