SHORT TITLE.

AMENDMENT OR REPEAL.

82. The

Chinese Temples Ordin- ance, 1928. (No. 7 of 1928), -contd.

(2), in the last line of sub-section (4) and in the third line of sub-section (5), and the words "particular Chinese' in the eighth line of sub-section (5), are repealed;

(ii) sub-section (3)-the words "paid or any periodical payment made” are sub- stituted for "or periodical payment paid" in the first line, the words "of any temple" are inserted immediately after "chuk" in the third line, and the words "that temple" are substituted for "the particular Chinese temple in question" in the last line;

(iii) sub-section (5)—the words "expira- tion of the notice he" are substituted for "termination of the notice the person in question" in the sixth line.

(7) Section 11--the words "any person" are substituted for such person as they may think fit in the second and third lines, and "particular" in the third line is repealed.

(8) Section 12—

(i) sub-section (1)--the words "their views" are substituted for "the views of such persons" in the last two lines;

(ii) sub-section (2)-the words "for the temple" are substituted for "of the temple in question in the third line;

(iii) sub-section (4)-the word "has" is substituted for shall have" in the third line.

(9) Section 13, sub-section (2) the words "that temple" are substituted for "the Chinese temple for or in connexion with which the collection or appeal or request is being made" in the fourth, fifth and sixth lines.

(10) Section 14, sub-section (1) the words "that any are substituted for "any con- travention of any" in the twelfth line, and "is being or has been contravened" for "to be taking place or to have taken place" in the fourteenth and fifteenth lines, and the words 'as is authorized by this section' in the fifteenth and sixteenth lines are repealed.
