Special Regulations.
CLASS 3.
82.--(1) Every cylinder shall-
(a) be made of steel,
(b) contain a homogenous porous substance,
and
(c) be maintained in good condition.
(2) Such homogenous porous substance shall-
(a) be similar in all respects to that in general use,
(b) completely fill the cylinder, and
(c) have a porosity not exceeding 80%.
(3) Every cylinder may also contain acetone or other solvent, in which case such acetone or other solvent shall not-
(a) be capable of chemical reaction with the gas in the cylinder or with the homogeneous porous substance or with the metal of the cylinder, or
(b) when the cylinder is completely filled with gas, com- pletely fill the porosity of the homogeneous porous substance at any temperature likely to be met with in ordinary practice
or use.
83. Every cylinder valve shall be securely closed to prevent leakage.
