Winner House was built in 1950 on King's Road at North Point, since which time the district has become an extremely popular one for both residential and entertainment pur- poses.

The restaurant on the top floor of Winner House has always been popular venue for all those enjoying good food and entertainment In comfortable surroundings.

Early this year the existing re- staurant, which until then had only occupied half of the top floor, was expanded to take up the entire floor. The space the extension now occupies had previously been used for living accommodation.

The floor has been completely re- modelled, which has necessitated the removal of most of the internal partition walls and the redesigning of the wall containing the new en- trance from the existing lift lobby.

The new restaurant extension was opened just before Chinese New Year. and when Rotary International (H.K. East) was formed, it was decided to make it the meeting place for their regular Wednesday luncheons.

Apart from the large room and the three private dining rooms. other accommodation includes a cloakroom just to one side of the entrance, lava- tories and a pantry. Service is from the existing kitchen by means of a new covered bridge from the pantry. The owners' requirements were for The entrance doors are of a moder- one large room suitable for large nised Chinese design with inset parties. banquets, etc.. and three glazed panels and large pear-shaped small private dining rooms. The handles carved from solid teak. architects have evolved a very suc- cessful and attractive design, which suffers little from those disadvant- ages usually associated with a job of reconversion.

On the curved interior walls, pa- nelling is of vertical teak strips giv- ing a corrugated effect; this finish is comparatively easy to apply to a
