Total area of each flat will be 2,130 square feet. Site area for the development is 40,500 square feet and the total roofed area will be 4,274 square feet. Total volume of the two blocks will be approximately 697,000 cubic feet, one block being 314.060 cubic feet and other 383.000 cubic feet. Building cost, not includ- ing site formation or the provision of lifts, will be under $2,000,000, giving a cost of about $1.80 a cubic foot.
The architect, Mr. T.K. Wong. has provided an attractive ap- pearance for Valley View, the front elevation of each block being filled in the centre with white grill work in reinforced concrete (pre-cast and then fitted into place) through which will be seen glimpses of the blue or green facing walls of the front en- trance lobbies of each flat and the windows of the main entrance staircase.
General construction is in rein. forced concrete beam and pillar. The floors of the living rooms will be of hollow block so that there will be no beams to break the flat ceilings of the floors below. General external finish, apart from the grill. work will be in white cement render- ing. Inside walls of the entrance lobby will be faced in glazed tiles.
The approach road being made from Wongneichong Gap Road leads into the car parks underneath the two blocks, which will give parking space for thirty cars.
