The main sales floor covers 45.000 sq. ft. and is 275 ft. long by 160 ft. wide. It was designed to be column- free and completely flexible.
Consisting of bow-string trusses, the roof framing was designed and manu- factured by the Steel Fabricating Division of AG & P. The trusses have unusually long spans, the long- est extending to 135 ft.
Adjustable steel ties, diagonally connecting to the trusses, were pro- vided so as to transfer the intermedi- ate loads of the timber ceiling fram- ing and, at the same time, to coun- teract and eliminate the ceiling sag
