Approved by Special Warrant during the year.
Administration: One post of Assistant Trade Officer was added by Special Warrant during 1957/58 to provide a leave reserve. Thirteen new posts of various grades are provided to operate new Hollerith equipment which is expected to be installed before the end of 1958. The latter will be offset by the retrenchment of 15 posts of Clerk and one post of Hollerith Machine Operator by 1st January, 1959.
One post of Executive Grade Officer is provided to be the Accountant/Secretary; the holders of the existing Accountant and Secretary posts will become his assistants, and his duties will be to direct and co-ordinate their work and relieve the Assistant Director.
One post of Clerk and one post of Messenger have been provided to cope with in- creased responsibilities in the Staff and Office Branch; 2 posts of Clerk are required to enable the Accounts Branch to keep abreast of the work; 3 additional leave reserve clerks are provided, and the remaining 3 new posts of Clerk held against vacancies of Hollerith Machine and Punch Operators will be abolished w.e.f. 1.11.58.
