Future of Hong_Kong.
Transmits copy of a minute of 12th June which Mr. Paskin wrote as an interview which he had with Mr. V. Farmer, Chungking representative of I.C.I. Mr. Farmer hopes that Hong Kong will not be returned to the Chinese after the war and does not himself think that a firm attitude in this matter would endanger Anglo-Chinese relations.
(Minutes.)
I don't think it really matters that "most Climere with interests in Hong Kong
would wish to see Boution authon't restored there". Almost without exception, officials, intellectuals, & students will clamour for the "retion of Aky to China, & no commercial
interests will venture to raise a voice to the contrary.
