4. India.

LA

A paper C.0.S. (40)1064, has been prepared asking for the Chiefs of Staff agreement in principle to the issue of anti-aircraft equipments to India on the basis of 4 heavy anti-aircraft and 6 light anti-aircraft per month, in order that Indian anti-aircraft regiments can now be trained. Should this be accepted it is suggested that the first issues should be made now, in order that the anti-aircraft school and initial training can start as soon as possible. 4 heavy anti-aircraft and 6 light anti-aircraft guns have thus been earmarked for India. Should this principle not be accepted, it is suggested that these guns should be added to the A.D.G.B. allotment.

5. Customers.

The present normal monthly allocation of 4 heavy anti-aircraft guns has been made for Turkey. It should be noted that this allocation was reduced from 8 per month in accordance with the decision of 248th Meeting of the Chiefs of Staff held on 5th August, 1940, to the present four per month.

6. Home Forces.

During the past three months Home Forces have received only 2 light anti-aircraft guns, making a total of 38 in all. Out of this 38 it has been agreed that one battery should be used as a "travelling circus" for the defence of towns on the South Coast. To meet the urgent need for training of units with the Field Army 12 light anti-aircraft guns have been allotted.

7. Training.

The situation with regard to training of anti-aircraft units has deteriorated during the last two months. As a result of November and December allocations and withdrawals made necessary to meet the urgent Greece commitment, present holdings compared with the end of October are as fellows:-
