Aprud allocation den cos (41) 16.1

ALLOCATION OF ANTI-AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENTS FOR JANUARY 1941.

Memorandum by the Vice-Chief of the Imperial General Staff.

The allocation for January is considered under the following headings:

lalta.

Middle East. India.

Customers.

Home Forces.

Training. A.D.G.B.

Iceland.

2.

Malta.

To meet the authorised scale of 112 heavy anti-aircraft and 60 light anti-aircraft guns, Malta is due a further 18 heavy anti-aircraft and 8 light anti-aircraft guns. It is proposed to allocate 10 heavy anti-aircraft and 8 light anti-aircraft from January production as it is anticipated that this amount can be made available for shipment in W.S.6. This leaves a balance of 8 heavy anti-aircraft guns still to be met.

3*

Middle East.

The December allocation of 24 heavy anti-aircraft and 40 light anti-aircraft guns which includes 16 heavy anti-aircraft and 12 light anti-aircraft for M.N.B.D.O., are due to sail in W.S.6. It is doubtful whether further mobile guns will be ready for inclusion in this convoy. The next large consignment will thus leave in W.S.7., and towards this an allocation of 8 heavy anti-aircraft and 24 light anti-aircraft guns has been made from January production. There will be time to increase this from February production before W.S. 7. sails.

The detailed situation for Malta and Middle East is set out in Appendix A attached.
