ALLOCATION OF ANTI-AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENTS.

Memorandum by Vice Chief of the Imperial General Staff.

The Vice Chiefs of Staff at their 293rd Meeting on the 3rd September, 1940, when considering the detailed allocations for September and the general allocation for the six months period September to February, agreed that the overriding requirements of A. A. equipments for the United Kingdom, Malta and Middle East for the present ruled out any question of allocations to West Africa, Far East, Burma and India. They further agreed to accept as a tentative aim over the next six months the allocations proposed in Appendix C of 0.0.S.(40)692. for:-

Malta

Middle East Iceland

2. On the above basis the allocations for October, are considered under the following headings:-

United Kingdom including (A.D.G.B.

Home Forces Training.

The allocation pred is 16 H.A.A. Guns and 36 Light A.A. Guns which is short by some 8 light guns of the average monthly allocation. as set out in Appendix C of C.0.S. (40)

Malta.

Similarly the allocation for Malta is 12 H.A.A. Guns and 8 Light A. A. Guns, the average monthly requirements to bring Malta up to the total of 112 H.A. A. Guns and 60 Light Guns vide Appendix C. to C.0.S.(40)692.
