(12.) The salary of the clerk of the peace and the salaries of the clerks of the justices: Provided that an order for such salaries shall not be made by a Secretary of State in pursuance of any recommendation of the county council until such recom- mendation has been approved of by the quarter sessions; (18.) The tables of fees to be taken by and the costs to be allowed to any clerk of the peace or clerk to the justices, inspector, analyst, or person holding any office in the county, or to be paid for any registration;
(14.) The appoin¿ment, removal, and determination of salaries of 10
the county treasurer, the public analysts, and the inspectors of explosives and other county officers, and the determination of the salaries of inspectors of explosives;
(15.) The salary of any coroner whose salary is payable out of the
county rate, the fees, allowances, and disbursements which may 15 be allowed to be paid by any such coroner, and the division of the county into coroners districts; (16.) The division of the county into polling districts for the purposes of parliamentary elections, the appointment of places of election and the registration of parliamentary voters ; (17.) The functions of the quarter sessions as local authority in the execution of Acts relating to contagious diseases of animals, to destructive insects, to fish conservancy, to wild fowl, to the adulteration of food or drugs, to fairs and markets, to weights and measures;
(18.) The appointment of a committee under the Acts relating to frauds in the manufacture of wool, worsted yarn, and worsted goods;

(19.) The confirmation of byelaws under the Acts relating to
markets and fairs, harbours, docks, and piers, labourers lodging- 80 houses, towns improvement, or under any local Act relating to any Improvement Act district;
(20.) The registration of rules of scientific societies, under the Act of the session of the sixth and seventh years of the reign of Her present Majesty, chapter thirty-six, the registration of 85 charitable gifts under the Act of the session of the fifty-second year of the reign of George the Third, chapter one hundred and two, the certifying to and recording of places of religious worship under the Act of the session of the fifty-second year of the reign of George the Third, chapter one hundred and 40
