which will be notified to them by the Camp Adjutants of their Sections of the Defence, to assist in drawing the reserve ammunition and field equipment for their detachments, and for its conveyance to section headquarters. These escorts will take charge of the coolies employed, and insure that none desert. The officers will report their arrival to the Camp Adjutants of their Section of Defence at the Ordnance Office.

6. No requisitions for water transport or coolies will be required, as the O.C.A.S.C. has information of the amount required.

7. All baggage and stores left behind will be stored by companies in the Quarter- master's Stores, and a guard of 1 N.C.O. and 6 men, which will also act as regimental quarter-guard, mounted over them. This guard to be furnished by No. 4 double

company.

8. All other regimental guards will be withdrawn, and will join their companies. 9. All guards on duty in the forts will be relieved by the Royal Artillery, and will immediately on relief join their companies, the R.A. launches being utilized for this purpose.

10. The following garrison guards will be furnished by No. 4 double company, and will proceed to their respective guards forthwith, relieving any men of Nos. 1, 2, and 3 double companies who may be on duty. These guards will be relieved daily.

The Quartermaster will be so good as to indent on the O.C.A.S.C., Kowloon, for the necessary transport for their move.

11. The mules at present with the regiment will be handed over by the Transport Officer to the Transport Officer No. 2 N.I. battalion.

12. Bandsmen and all men on regimental employ will at once join their companies, the rifles and accoutrements of men sick in hospital being issued to bandsmen, under company arrangements.

13. Cooks, bhisties, and sweepers will join their companies.

14. The Officers Commanding Nos. 1 and 2 detachments will report their arrival at the headquarters of their Section of Defence to the Officers Commanding their sections, and take their orders as to their disposal.

15. Indents for rations will be submitted daily by 10 A.M., by the Officers Commanding Nos. 1 and 2 detachments to the Officers Commanding their Sections of the Defence, and by No. 4 double company Commanders to the 0.C.A.S.C., Kowloon.

16. All coolies and water transport will be returned on completion of their work by Officers Commanding detachments to the Camp Adjutants of their Sections of Defence, escorts being furnished to insure that no coolies desert.

17. The trained signallers of the regiment are placed at the disposal of the Brigade Signalling Officer, who will detail them to Sections of the Defence. They should be equipped for service in the field, under the conditions detailed above.

18. A guard of 2 havaldars, 2 naiks, 1 bugler, and 16 Sepoys, to be furnished by Company, will at once proceed to the Kowloon Docks, to assist the dock autho- rities in the protection of the docks. The senior havaldar will report his arrival to the dock manager or his representative.

This guard will remain permanently at the docks, will be rationed for two days, and be issued with 200 rounds of ball ammunition per rifle.

The 4th double company Commander will indent on the O.C.A.S.C., Kowloon, for the necessary transport, and will arrange for the subsequent rationing of the guard.

This guard should comprise one or two men who can speak English.

No camp equipage need be sent, as the guard will be quartered in one of the dock buildings.
