Attack by Wanchai-Aberdeen Road:-2-2.5-inch guns take up a position at the Gap in an earthen epaulment previously constructed. Two 6·6-inch howitzers on Mount Cameron enfilade road and valley. Half a company of infantry is posted on an apex beneath these guns with an observation party on their left in flag or megaphone com- munication with the patrol from No. IV Section. The remaining half-company occupies Sanatarium at first. In both cases the supporting company either from Mount Austin or Victoria occupies main ridge, and moves forward as required.
Attack on Wanchai Commander of No. IV Section must be prepared to cover the left flank of No. III Section and prevent its being turned by an attack on Middle Gap.

No. IV SECTION.
Wong-nei-Cheong Gap.
Area.--The Section includes the ground from Middle Gap to Tytam Reservoir. The Section Commander is responsible for watching the approaches from Repulse, Deep, and Tytam Bays.
Garrison.
The force allotted to this Section consists of:-
Hong Kong-Singapore Battalion, 1 British, 3 native officers, 73 N.C.Os.
Royal Artillery
Royal Engineers
British Infantry Battalion
Royal Army Medical Corps
and men.
1 officer, 6 N.C.Os. and men.
6 officers, 240 N.C.Os. and men.
1 officer, 2 N.C.Os. and men.
Disposition. The R.A., amongst their guns; British infantry, one company at Tytam Reservoir, remainder at Wong-nei-Cheong Gap, with piquet at Middle Gap.
O.C. No. IV Section must establish communication with Nos. III and V Sections. Quartering. The whole of the troops will at first be placed under canvas, pending erection of mat-sheds.
Movable Armament.--The guns allotted to this Section are:-

Hill above Deep Water Bay.
Reinforcements.--This Section can be reinforced from No. III or from No. V Section, or from Reserve at Victoria. By No. III, along Magazine Gap Road and Black's Link; by No. V, from the troops thrown forward to Tytam Gap viâ Tytam Reservoir, along path by catchwater.
Communications.-Communication in the Section will be by heliograph and flag; to other Sections by telephone.
Food Supply. Supplies will be brought from Victoria by coolies.
Dressing Station.-A mat-shed will be erected at Wong-nei-Cheong Gap as a dressing station, and the wounded conveyed thence to base hospital as necessary.
Attack. The attacks to be expected are from troops landing at Repulse, Deep, or Tytam Bays, and will be directed either on Tytam Reservoir, Wong-nei-Cheong, or Middle Gaps.
Middle Gap must be defended by means of the link connecting it with Wong-nei- Cheong.
Outposts. At night an outpost will watch the landing-place at Tytam Tuk, and a section will occupy the blockhouse at the Reservoir.
