22. Daily State.--You will furnish daily to the F.C. a state of all troops belonging to the Belchers and Pinewood Sub-districts of the Fire Command.

23. Sick Report. You will render a report to the P.M.O. through the F.C. of any sick or wounded requiring removal to the Military Hospital.

24. Rations. -You will forward to the F.C. by 9 A.M. a ration indent in bulk, commencing on the second day of mobilization. You will establish a ration sub-depôt of reserved supplies, only to be drawn upon in the event of the rations for any day failing to reach you.

25. Expenditure of Ammunition.-You will forward to the F.C. daily a statement of the expenditure of ammunition. A duplicate should be sent to the Armament Staff Officer.

26. Stand to Arms one Hour Before Daybreak.--All men of the first relief R.A., and those men of the R.E. and infantry on duty should be got under arms an hour before daybreak daily, and will remain so till the order to dismiss is received from Headquarters In case of alarm at any time, all the R.A. reliefs on duty will double to their places in action.

27. Look-outs on Guns.----The R.A. relief on duty will supply a look-out by day, and be ready to man the guns at a moment's notice.

It will supply two armed look-outs by night. Half the R.A. relief will be accommodated close to the guns by night in temporary shelters, the remainder will sleep in their casemates or tents, and be ready to turn out instantly on alarm. An armed sentry will be posted from the relief on duty to patrol the rear of the battery during the night.

28. Lights in Gun Emplacements, Ammunition. —Lights must be ready in gun emplacements of 6-inch Batteries and 12-pr Batteries, magazines need not be kept lighted, since the supply of ammunition must be from the recesses.

29. Pinewood Battery to Open Fire on Hostile Vessel.-Any information received by the selected Battery (Pinewood) from the P.W.S.S. should be at once transmitted to the F.C. post This Battery should open fire on any hostile vessel appearing in the water area just north of Lamma Island. A report being at once telephoned to the F.C.

30. Movable Armament Guns. You will take immediate steps to increase the amount of ammunition for each of the movable armament guns to 100 rounds per piece; the ammunition for this purpose should have been collected at Pinewood Battery during the precautionary period.

You will hand over the 5-inch howitzers to the Volunteers.
