By Night.-
North Shore, Western end.
1 piquet of 15 n.c.os. and men. This piquet will provide :--
(a.) Maxim detachment north of S.L. No. 6. (b.) Detachment between S.Ls. Nos. 6 and 7.
South Shore, Western end.
1 piquet of 15 n.c.os. and men. This piquet will provide :-
(a.) A Maxim detachment on rocks N.W. of S.L. No. 9. (b.) A detachment near S Shore Pier.
(c.) Group on promontory between old Centurion Battery and S. Shore Pier,
with signalling lamp.
South Shore, Eastern end.
1 piquet of 1 officer and 15 n.c.os. and men.
This piquet will provide :-
(a.) A Maxim detachment at the rifle butts.
(b.) 1 group between S.Ls. Nos. 5 and 6 below Albion.
(c.) A detachment at rocks some little distance W. of Pier.
(d.) Patrols for the shore from S.L. No. 1 by N.E. of Island to old site of
Centurion Battery.
Should there be a fog on the water by day, night dispositions should be taken up. Infantry patrols can communicate to O.C. infantry by telephone from any of the searchlights emplacements.
For purposes of administration, all details of the R.E., infantry, R.A.M.C., &c., allotted to the Western Fire Command (Stonecutters) will be attached to you, and will render the following reports to you during mobilisation:-
(1.) Daily state (R. E., infantry, R.A.M.C.).
(2.) Sick report (R.A.M.C.)
(3.) Expenditure of ammunition (R.E. and infantry).
You will make the necessary arrangements for the accommodation (in barracks only) of the above details.
You will arrange with the O.C. R.A.M.C. detachment concerning place and time for seeing sick.
35. Troops other than the R.G.A. in the Fire Command are assigned to positions as follows at the war period: Half the number of men at each post will be on duty at the precautionary period with the exception of the R.E. The O.C. infantry will arrange for the defence of the lights on the Praya and the engine room at Belchers during the precautionary period, the Hong Kong police taking over the duty at the war stage.

Finding by night and in foggy weather: Piquet on the Jubilee Road where the path leads up to Mount Davis; piquet on the Jubilee Road at the re-entrant above Sandy Bay. Piquets will keep up communication with each other and with Piquet No. I with the Island Section N. of Chater's Bungalow by patrols. The company will find such look-outs during the day time as may be necessary, and will take the necessary precautions towards safeguarding itself at night.
The Senior Officer will command both companies in the Western Fire Command.
