(11.) Mobilization Orders by Fire Commander, Western Defences, to O.C. No. 88 Company, Royal Garrison Artillery.
(i.) Precautionary Stage.
1. Guards for Batteries, P.F. Cells, F.C. Posts, Examination Gun, &c.-On the order to mobilize for precautionary stage being received, the following guards, &c., will be at once detailed from the manning details of the works. You will report to me directly manning is complete, and will act as my Staff Officer during mobilization :-
1 officer, 3 gunners
F.C. Post, Mount Davis (temporarily old F.C. Post).-Total 7.
as look-outs, 1 P.F. specialist, 2 telephonists and signallers.
Accommodation Men's tent, camp kettles, &c.
Pinewood Battery (selected).-Total 17. 1 officer, 1 sergeant, 1 n.c.o., 10 gunners,
1 P.F. specialist, 3 telephonists and signallers.
Accommodation: Barracks at Pinewood.
Fly Point.-Total 12. 1 n.c.o. and 10 men H.K.S.B. R.G.A., 1 telephonist and
signaller.
Accommodation: 1 tent, 1 mat-shed.
Upper Belchers.—Total 13. 1 n.c.o. and 10 men H.K S.B. R.G.A., 1 P.F. specialist,
1 telephonist and signaller.
Accommodation: I tent.
Lower Belchers (Examination Gun B. 1).-Total 24. 1 sergeant, 1 n.c.o., 20 gunners,
2 signallers and telephonists.
Accommodation: Lower Belchers Barracks.
Mount Kellet. Total 10. 1 n.c.o. and 9 men (attached to Island Section
Commander).
Accommodation : 2 tents.
Mount Davis.--Total 26. 1 officer, 1 sergeant, 20 gunners, 2 F.F. specialists,
2 telephonists and signallers.
Accommodation: 1 officer's tent, 2 men's tents.
High West.-Total 10. 1 n.c.o. and 9 men.
Accommodation: Shed.
Jubilee Look-out.-Total 11. 2 n.c.os. and 9 men. (Includes 4 signallers and
2 telephonists.)
Accommodation: 1 tent.
2. Marching out to Forts, &c.-The above details will, at the appointed hour, parade in marching order, rolled blankets to be carried and water bottles filled. You will issue 20 rounds s.a. ammunition to each man. Men are allowed 20 lb. kit, officers 60 lb.
3. Report. The guards will be marched off by the orderly officer, who will visit each fort to see that the guards have gone to their appointed places. He will then proceed to the F.C. post, from whence he will report to you that everything is correct for the information of the Fire Commander.
