20. Lines and Guards.-The following will be left, as stated :—-

In Whitfield Barracks.

21. Lines. All property left behind will be stored by double companies in one barrack room, the key being kept in the Quarter Guard.

22. Hospital Collecting Stations.-Collecting will be as per Mobilization Orders, No. 31, Mainland Defence, War Stage. Attention of Detachment Commanders is to be drawn to the last paragraphs of the above order.

23. Telephone Stations.-Telephone stations are as per Mobilization Orders, (5), paragraphs 17-20, Chapter V, Mainland Defence.

24. Sanitation and Water Supply.-Officers Commanding double companies are responsible that all ranks are acquainted with Mobilization Orders, (5), paragraph 35, Chapter V, Mainland Defence, War Stage.

25. Moves. On orders to move, the No. 2 Infantry Regiment will parade in field service order; attention is also drawn to Mobilization Orders, (5), paragraph 34, Chapter V, Mainland Defence, War Stage, for troops in camp.

26. Protection.-All Detachment Commanders are to be acquainted with Mobiliza- tion Orders, (5), paragraph 33, Chapter V, Mainland Defence, War Stage.

27. Arrival Reports. Each Detachment Commander will report his arrival at his position to the D.C. Commander either by signalling, semaphore, telephone, or orderly. These reports will be passed on to the Staff Officer, Sacred Hill.

28. Local and General Reserve.--The local reserve, as per Table B (ii), Chapter II, and Mainland Orders, (5), paragraph 20, Chapter V, with heads of departments and Officers Commanding units, will be at Sacred Hill.

The general reserve will be in Whitfield Barracks.

(7.) Orders by O.C.H.K.S.B. R.G.A.

(i) Precautionary Stage.

1. On orders being received to adopt the precautionary stage, O.C. companies will hold their detachment in readiness to move out with their guns as may be ordered by the Section Commander.

2. The chief object of a precautionary stage being to make preparations for an actual mobilization and to safeguard all works, stores, &c., against the action of spies and other evilly disposed persons without at the same time running the risk of precipitating hostilities by obtrusive preparations, the following measures will be taken : Caretakers of works and magazines will be exchanged for guards; the condition of barbed wire and other fences must be seen to; all outstanding requisitions on A.O.D.
