35. Sanitation and Latrines.-Officers Commanding Sub-sections and Reserve and the Camp Commandant will pay particular attention to the sanitation of their camp. The trench system of latrines to be adopted as far as practicable in localities to be selected by them.

36. Water Supply.--The water for troops on the hills will be found close to their positions. Care should be taken that no water is used for drinking and cooking which passes through cultivation. The drinking supply for troops near Kowloon City is procurable from the Dairy Farm and a hydrant to be erected at Sacred Hill; the washing supply from wells in the Police Station and at 23, Hua Street.

37. Ammunition, Small-arm. Pouch ammunition (150 rounds per rifle for infantry, 60 rounds for other units), 10,000 rounds per Maxim gun and 150 rounds first reserve per rifle will be kept in units' charge.

Second reserve of 300 rounds per rifle will be stored in Kowloon West Fort for that portion of No. 5 Sub-section from Beacon Hill to Lai-chi-kok, both inclusive, and in Field Magazine, A.O.D., Sacred Hill, for other posts and detachments.

38. Ammunition, Gun.-The Officer Commanding H.K.S.B. R.G.A. will issue his own orders as regards gun ammunition and its storage when distributed. Tarpaulins for covering ammunition will be requisitioned for by accounting units as found necessary.

39. Kits. The scale of baggage allowed is 60 lb. per officer, 20 lb. for rank and file, and an additional 10 lb. for two days' preserved rations and fuel. Blankets and waterproof sheets (included in weight given) will be taken from those in possession of units in peace time. 10 lb. for followers.

40. Arrival Reports.-Arrival Reports are to be sent to Staff Officer, Sacred Hill, as soon as units reach their posts. The Staff Officer will see that the Brigade Signallers get into communication with Haiwan immediately on arrival at Sacred Hill.

41. Troops to get under arms. Troops will get under arms an hour before daybreak and remain so until outposts and observation posts report "all correct and secure. Commanders of Sub-sections will report accordingly to the Staff Officer, Sacred Hill.

42. Mainland Section Commander will be at Orphanage.

(6.) Orders for No. 2 Indian Infantry Battalion.

(i.) Precautionary Stage.

1. Distribution of Troops.--On Mobilization, precautionary stage, the distribution will be as shown in Chapter II, Table B (i), and Mainland Section Orders (see (5), paragraph 8 of this chapter).

Two Signalling Posts of 3 men each will be attached to Island Section at Mount Kellet and Wong-nei-cheong.

Guards of 1 n.c.o. and 7 men will be furnished from troops in barracks at Dock Hung Hom and Ration Stand, Whitfield Barracks, being relieved at war stage by police.

2. Equipment.-Equipment will be drawn from the A.O.D. at such hours as may be notified.

3. Transport.
