(5.) Orders by the Officer Commanding Mainland Section.

(i.) Precautionary Stage.

1. The Mainland Section is divided into three Sub-sections, as under

Area

No. 3 Sub-section.-Eastern boundary, the line of the Lau Tong Valley (inclusive); Western boundary, a line drawn through Hammer Hill, Middle Hill, Sleepers' Knoll (exclusive).

No. 4 Sub-section.-Eastern boundary, the line Hammer Hill-Middle Hill-Sleepers' Knoll (inclusive); Western boundary, the Kowloon City-Kowloon Pass Road (exclusive). No. 5 Sub-section.-Eastern boundary, the Kowloon City-Kowloon Pass Road (inclusive); Western boundary, the sea shore at Wong Uk (inclusive).

2. In accordance with General Order No. of to-day, Officers Commanding units will detail parties to draw their equipment (precautionary stage) from such places as are named in the Issue Orders in their possession at the hours named in the attached time table.

3. The Staff Officer, Mainland Section, will be present to superintend the issue of such stores as are ordered to be drawn from the Ordnance Depôt in Kowloon West Fort and Whitfield Barracks. At the precautionary stage Officers Commanding units will draw field dressings for full strength and issue them as required.

4. Transport.-Officer in Charge Transport arranges for all transport required, as laid down in Tables G (ii), G (iii), and G (v), Chapter III, Defence Scheme (no requisi- tions need be submitted).

5. The Officer Commanding No. 1 Battalion British Infantry will draw all equipment and stores for-

(a.) His own detail (including B.I. telephonists).

(b.) Royal Engineers.

6. The Officer Commanding No. 2 Battalion Indian Infantry will draw all equipment and stores for—

(a.) His own detail (including extra signalling equipment). (b.) Medical details, Rennie's Farm.

7. The Officer Commanding H.K.S B. R.G.A. will arrange to draw for R.G.A. details all necessary equipment and all stores special for moving guns into position, and move guns, as detailed in war stage Orders, to their positions. Manning to be on the scale laid down in Table B (i), Chapter II, precautionary.

8. The Officer Commanding No. 2 Battalion Indian Infantry will take up the posts and blockhouses by sub-sections, as detailed in war stage Orders, balance to complete numbers in Table B (i), precautionary, Chapter II, going to supports.

9. Rations. Rationing for troops remaining in barracks as in peace time, but all detachments proceeding from Headquarters will be rationed according to indents sent in to the Officer in Charge of Supplies by the Section Commander.

Troops proceeding to their mobilization positions will carry in their kits two days' rations from unit's reserve, to be kept as a reserve.

10. Distribution.--The distribution of the troops at this stage is laid down in Table B (i), Chapter II. Should a prolonged time be probable, they may be relieved under orders of Officer Commanding, Mainland Section, from those in barracks.
