A reaffirmation of British policy regarding Czecho- Slovakia, as outlined in Mr. Chamberlain's declaration in the House of Commons on March 24, an appeal for support for Lord Runciman in his mission of conciliation and a plea for world peace, were the principal points in the anxiously awaited speech by Sir John Simon at Lanark this afternoon.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer said that the British position regarding Czecho-Slovakia had been fully and accurately declared in Mr. Chamberlain's speech in the Houseof Commons and added:
"That the declaration holds good to-day. There is nothing to add or vary in its contents. To find a solution for the controversy in Czecho-Slovakia, contributions from all concerned are needed.
