Washington, May 13, first test it the Frazier-Lemke Farm The proponents of inflation won the
Mortgage Bill's hearings in the House of Representatives to-day, on an unimportant amendment which the Administration had opposed.
An earlier Administration, attempt to substitute the Bill with another farm measure failed when Represen tative Clifton Woodrum, Demperat of Virginin, ruled such a procedure oui, of order.
Representative Marvin Jones, Demo. erat of Texas, proposed a substitute carrying less drastic and indirect Inflation permitting the Federal in- termediate credit banks to lasue $2,000,000,000 in notes secured by C$800,000,000 from the Stabilisation fund.
The leaders of the House are seriously worried over the prospects for the passage of the Bill.
The speaker of the House, Mr. Joseph W. Byrns, spoke personally to the flouse and read a letter from Mr. William Green, the Chairman of the American Federation of Labour,
to urging Labour's friends vote against the Frazier-Lemke Bill.
This letter gave occasion for some consternation among the Bill's sup- porters-United Press.

FAST CROSSING OF ATLANTIC
London, May 13. The ginnt airship, Field Marshal von Hindenburg, which left Lake- hurst, New Jersey at 4.m. yester day, on her return fight from the United States to Germany, was sight- ed at 7.50 p.m. to-day from Cork, having crossed the Atlantic at an average speed of over eighty miles per hour.
The airship is 'expected to land at the new Zeppelin airport at Frank- fort-on-Main at 5 a.m. on Thursday.
After completing the flight, the alr ship plans to begin her second North Atlante might on Saturday.--Reuter's Bulletin Service.

The Hongkong Working Artists' Guild is convening a gathering of members and friends at the Hotel Ceell on Friday, May 15 at 5 pm, to see the mural decoration of the ball room by Mr. Wong Sui-ling, before he leaves the Colony to undertake other commissions.
