Washington, May 13, first test it the Frazier-Lemke Farm The proponents of inflation won the

Mortgage Bill's hearings in the House of Representatives to-day, on an unimportant amendment which the Administration had opposed.

Representative Marvin Jones, Demo. erat of Texas, proposed a substitute carrying less drastic and indirect Inflation permitting the Federal in- termediate credit banks to lasue $2,000,000,000 in notes secured by C$800,000,000 from the Stabilisation fund.

The leaders of the House are seriously worried over the prospects for the passage of the Bill.

The speaker of the House, Mr. Joseph W. Byrns, spoke personally to the flouse and read a letter from Mr. William Green, the Chairman of the American Federation of Labour,

to urging Labour's friends vote against the Frazier-Lemke Bill.
