On the 6th May noxt the British Empire is giving thanks and praise that for 25 years His Majesty King George V has been preserved to bear the sceptra of sovereignty and maintain the unity of the Empire. His Majesty's great: interest in all forms of charity is universally, recognised and it is known that His Majesty desires this auspicious occasion to be in some manner dedicated to assisting charitable objects. It has, therefore, been decided to collect funds throughout this Colony for charitable purposes, the subscriptions not to exceed $1 and humbly to pray His Majesty to nominate the charities in this Colony to which the moneys collected should be devoted.

The Charitable Collection Sub-Committoo is providing boxes for the purpose of the collection and all those who wish to assist in this laudable object are asked to communicate with the Honourable Dr. B. H. Kotowall, C.M.G., LL.D., of China Building, Hongkong, who is representing the Chinese Sub-Committee formed for this purpose or to Mr. S. F.
