One of the greatest Air searches in bistory was still being conducted for Col. C. D. H. MacAlpine, mining engineer, and his party of soven aviator-explorera when this picture was taken of members of the missing expedition after they had boon discovered by a noma die band of Eskimos on Cambridge Bay, in the Arctic Ocean. The above photo, brought back by Richard Pearos, a member of the expedition, shows leaders of the party with their rosouers and one of their planes which was forced down in the frozen wastes. At the right (in, a light-coloured costume) is Colonel MacAlpine, and at his left are William Goodwin, Capt. J. MoMillin, Alex. Milne and Major J. R. Bakor. They were reported missing for two months.

MadAlpino, Canadian mining engineer and his party of seven aviators who were lost for eight weeks in the vicinity of Victoria Island, in the Arctic Ocean. Here you see how this ship, piloted by Andy Cruikshanks, crashed through the ice on the Burnsulo River.
