Reclamation the Street Market, the Chairman said that the matter arose some months age with reference to the Shar- Market. He said that when the markets were opened, in order to fill the building, certain stalls were let for the sale of sundries such as salt fish, bean curd. etc. These articles did not need to be sold in the Market.
As Kowloon had expanded it was increasingly necessary for the market, to be devoted to the sale of food which could only be sold in the market.

Mr. Lake has now been appointed Mate of the Tai Shan. For the inst few months, Mr. Lake was in charge of the reconstruction of the Canton wharf.
