BRITISH INDIA-APCAR SAILINGS
Continuing, complainant said that she did not see accused again until July 18, ten days after her husband had returned. When sho saw him he asked her if she would like to go back to Manila with her husband. She replied that they could not do so as they had not sufficient money. To accused replied "If you want to go to Manila I would willingly sell my musical instrument to pay your fares back." Complainant: added that he did not say what instrument he was referring to.
She continued that her mistress TAKADA · then came along and asked accus- SHIRALA ed what he wanted. He did not TALMA answer and her mistress slapped her (witness). She added that the above incident occurred in a tailor's shop in Haiphong Road,
Complainant then went on to describe the Incident on the even- Ing of July 20. After corroborat ing her husband with regard to his being threatened with a knife and pushed outside, she said that accused threatened her with the knife and said he would kill her if she did not comply with hia| request. She shouted in order to attract her husband's attention but accused slapped her and told her not to shout. He then com- mitted the acts complained of.
The case was adjourned.
