It is named the Vixon, and bas been constructed by Mesere. Vickers in response to the demand for a new air fighter that will become the standard for the Royal Air Force.

The Vixen is a two-seater machine, fitted with a single Napier Lion engine, and even fully equipped with crow and armaments is "expected to be capable of a speed of at least 150 miles an hour. This is some 30 or 40 miles faster than any fight- ing machine now in uso,

The fuselage is armoured to reduce to a minimum the risk of damage by anti-aircraft.fire or ma- chine-gunning by enemy planes, Machine-guns, fived by means of the revolutions of the engine, will be fitted for the use of the pilot, and there will be similar offensive and defensive, weapons for the observer.

It can be used either as a scout- ing machine, operating on its own, or as an escort for bombing planes.

If adopted by the Air Ministry, the Vixen will be ordered on a considerable rcale to replace obsoleto craft and equip the new additional air squadrons that havo been sanctioned.
