is in a very poor condition. This piece of apparatus was, bought in the year 1901, and has proved of excellent service to the com- munity. in January, 1918, upon the occasion' of its anndal over- -haul, extensive repairs were found .. to be necessary. and the boiler was discovered to be so defective that it
