MOTOR SMASH.
This composite photograph shows the miraculous escape of Roscoe Sarles, winner of the 250 mile speed championship race on the Los Angeles Speedway when Gaston Chevrolet, Eddie O'Donnell and Lyle Jolles were killed in a collision of the racing cars driven by Cheverolet and O'Donnel. Sarles, following close behind the ill-fated drivers at a speed of 108 miles an hour, by dexterious manipulation of his ear averted possible death to himself and hie mechanician. Chevrolet's and O'Donnel's cars are shown smashed up at the bottom of the incline.
NOBEL PRIZEWINNER.
Professor Ossian Aschan, of the University of Helsingford, of Copenhagen, has been awarded the Noble prize in chemistry in recognition of his researches concerning the manufacture of artificial rubber,

"Jersey" Ringel, of Newark, N.J., is America's foremost "stunt" aviator. His most thrilling feat is standing on the upper wing of his plane without holding on while the machine loops the loop. The photo shows "Jersey" climbing out on the wing of his plane to practico a few stunts.
