Mr. A. M. Pooley,

A message received in Takyo states that Mr. A. M. Pooley has arrived in Shanghai: Mr. Pooley loft Tokyo on August 10, and made a short stay at Kobe before procending to Shanghai. It is understood that he intends to proceed to Europe in order to oollect, by legal process, certain evidence which he holde is essential to clear his charaater when his appeal comes before the Court in Tokyo. Obviously the collection of evidence in England and Germany will be a particular- ly difficult matter at a time like! the pressat, It is said that the authorities here are not ignorant of Mr. Pooley's movements and that his departure was made with their knowledge, if not with their tacit consent.-Japan Advertiser,
