The four shallow draft cruisers built in Hongkong have been completed and delivered the Catton Provincial Government, and they are now about to be detailed to the West River for patrol service. The River la divided Into four sections. The Kiang Ta will cruise balweds Wochow and Tak Bing, the King CA between Tak Hing and Satu Hing, the King Eug between Shiu Hing and Tal Ping She and the Kiang Ku betweeò Tai Piog Sha and Tung Sai Ma Ning.

With reference to the report that a monk was arrested the other day by the police in Fatshas for obtaining money from the ignorant villagers by pretending that he was able to bring fortune to the people and drive away the devils from them, and that he was afterwards brought to Canton to be dealt with, yesterday, a crowd numbering over a thousand people, most of whom were women, collected at the Police station and demanded of the police officials the monk's release.
