After one breakaway, in which Enterprise galloped half a mile before being pulled up, the. lot were despatched lo a capital sian, bu. after going a few strides Enterprise and Salute cut out the work about three lengths in front of Valentine and Express, the athers following in main. close order. These positions Wars tained without any material variation until half Ja, mile from home, where Mr. Pond sent the favorite to the front and he raced down to the village four lengths to the good, his nearest attendants being Total Loss and Musket, although Liygodan, who had been conspicuously in the rear, was now threading his way through the field. Entering the straight the result was a foregone conclusion. and notwithstanding Llygodan's game efforts to get up, Leander drew away by himself and won easily by four lengths, in the very fast time of 2 min. 41 secs. Total Loss was a fair third, Musket fourth and Bolero fifth.

Surewind and Pro-shing were the bes Favorites, but Orlando had alte many stanch supporters. A splendid start was easily effected, but Susewind was quickest on his legs and came past the Stand the first time at least half a dozen lengths to the good, and this commanding lead was materially increased a rounding the head towards the back stretch. All the way up the hill Mr. Maclean kept the old dun going, and although Orlando, Wild Mint and Pao-shing hunted him home it of no avail, he scored an easy victory by over three lengths from Orlando, with Wild Mint a bad third. Pao-shing was second best, but Me Pond judiciously eased his pony inside the distance when he saw he had no chance. Time

After sevó ai fa lures the fig felto a good start, Enterprise making play in front of Express, Laufer lying third, and the others close together, excepting the favorite, who was outpaced at first And qui kly dropped i dizen lengths in the car, These positions were maintained for half the jury, and then Musket: Valentine and Cudio came out of the ruck, Total 10's also rapdly making up his lost ground. Enterprise was dore with at the village, where Mr. Reynell took the lead with Laufer, Musket now being second and Don John third.
