66. More use of VHF links was made when operating in remote districts and where casual land lines are difficult to obtain. The main Outside Broadcast Van was modified during the year and a pneumati- cally operated telescopic mast was installed in it. This was of considerable benefit in VHF link work and it made the setting up and operation of remote outside broadcasts quicker and more efficient.
