month took place in April 1964 when no less than 66 broadcasts took place outside the studios, an average of more than two per day.

The main Outside Broadcast Van was modified during the year and a pneumati- cally operated telescopic mast was installed in it. This was of considerable benefit in VHF link work and it made the setting up and operation of remote outside broadcasts quicker and more efficient.
