of the major rallies, Grands Prix and safaris which took place in other parts of the world, as well as interviews with many famous personalities connected with the motoring world.
72. A new magazine programme for children 'While Parents Sleep' was started with the idea of keeping them quiet on a Sunday morning whilst parents are still resting. A ‘Children's Club' was formed and the response was impressive. Badges were issued and prizes were given to winners of weekly quizzes. The intention was that the programme should have a lightly educational flavour whilst at the same time offering enter- tainment to younger listeners. Among the more popular items were a Road Safety Quiz which was run with the aid of the Traffic Branch of the Police Department, hints on taking care of pets and a series of popular children's stories. Members of the Club were also invited to the studios to take part in the programme.
RELIGIOUS BROADCASTS
73. As in previous years one church service was broadcast 'live' each Sunday. These came from selected Anglican, Roman Catholic and Non- conformist churches by rotation. Additional services were also broadcast in celebration of the major Christian Festivals. Fifteen-minute 'Mid-day Prayers' were broadcast twice weekly from the studios.
74. The regular 15-minute religious magazine programme 'Cross- roads' was discontinued in the summer with the departure of the editor on leave. The programme, which represented all denominations, had been on the air for some months and it is hoped that it will be revived in the same lively form when the editor returns.
75. Another series of religious broadcasts of interest was 'Perspective'. Each programme consisted of an interview with representatives of various beliefs. A Buddhist, a Taoist, a Roman Catholic, an Orthodox Jew, a Muslim, an Anglican and a Sikh were among those who took part.
76. Six 10-minute talks called 'Spur of the Moment' presented the radio audience with everyday situations demanding a difficult personal decision. The speaker then proceeded to discuss the various ways- immoral and moral-in which an individual could possibly deal with them.
77. Perhaps the most important religious broadcasts of the year for Radio Hong Kong were those in which representatives of the three main groups agreed to discuss the differences which divide them and
