Meaning or Remarks An irrigation channel.

A stream, especially one from which the boat-people get water or up which they take boats.

A grave-mound (i.e. not one of the usual graves cut from the hillside). Also read in names wan, wrann (110) and wang, wrang (111).

Very common in place names, in most of which it cannot possibly mean 'below'. Sometimes seems to stand for hang (10).
