The training programme for local professional staff in the Maintenance Branch did not succeed in producing the results hoped for, only one candidate of the four who entered being successful in his professional examinations.

Architectural Office participated in the F.W.D. Sports activities 1976/77 with satisfactory results. The Office took fourth place in the 8th P.W.D. Swimming Gala and sixth place in the 9th P.W.D. Sports Day. In the team events, the Office took first place in Sailing, second place in Lawn Bowls and Ten-pin Bowling, and third place in Basketball, Darts and Golf.
