9.14 The construction of a new road from the junction of Wan Tsui Road and Lin Shing Road to Hing Wah Housing Authority Estate, the widening of the section of Tin Hau Temple Road to the west of Fortress Hill Road and the construction of the temporary steel footbridge across Queen's Road East near Wah Yan College were completed.
9.15 Work continued on the widening of Pok Fu Lam Road from Queen Mary Hospital to Mount Davis Road and the Urban Renewal Pilot Scheme Area, Roads & Drainage, Stage I.
9.16 To improve traffic flow, improvement works commenced on selected sections of Repulse Bay Road as well as on two bends in Stubbs Road. Works also commenced on the reconstruction of the Queen's Road East/Stubbs Road junction and the whole length of Queen's Road East. Progress on the widening of Tin Lok Lane and Morrison Road to provide four traffic lanes in addition to the tram track, and on the construction of the road through Aberdeen from Shek Pai Wan Road to the Wholesale Fish Market continued satisfactorily.
9.17 Detailed design was carried out on the widening of Pok Fu Lam Road from Queen Mary Hospital to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road and on the elevated road from Pok Fu Lam Road to Connaught Road West. Planning commenced on Gloucester Road Flyover near Paterson Street and the associated widening of part of Tai Hang Road.

9.18 During the year regular observations were made on potentially dangerous slopes. Precautionary and remedial works were carried out as necessary in accordance with the reports by the Consulting Engineers on the stability of slope investigation and landslip studies.
