12.60 The total approved establishment of the Department was 73. Although up to approved strength the Department was nevertheless short of staff due to increase of workload and to Government-wide restrictions on expansion of establishments.
12.64 Towns Development Offices was found to be inadequate but attempts to find additional office space for the staff were unsuccessful.

12.62 A Chief Planning Officer and a Senior Architect attended a 3-week Administrative Development Course run by the Government Training Division.
12.63 The Department continued to hold monthly seminars to enable professional staff to exchange general ideas relevant to their jobs. Guest speakers from outside the Department were invited.
Welfare
12.64 A consultative committee for the General Grades staff was established in August 1975 and meetings were held quarterly.
12.65 On the occasion of the Tuen Ng Festival the staff and their colleagues in other P.W.D. Offices took part in a dragon boat race in Tuen Mun.
12.66 The Department once again held a very enjoyable Christmas party, in the Sha Tin Government Offices, for all the staff of the New Territories regional offices and the Hong Kong headquarters.
