101. The Target Committee on Corruption met on 24 occasions. A total of 281 allegations were received of which 264 suggested cor- ruption, the remaining 17 being of a miscellaneous nature. They were allocated by the Target Committee as follows:

(i) To be investigated by A.C. Branch

(ii) Other Police formations

(iii) Other Government Departments

(iv) No further action orderd by Target Committee

(v) Pending Target Committee decision (at the end of the

year)

Corruption Involving Police Officers

102. 128 reports or allegations of corruption against Police officers were dealt with. After consideration by the Target Committee 83 cases were referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch for investigation. Of these, 8 allegations were substantiated, 39 were not substantiated, and 36 were still under investigation at the end of the year. The remaining 65 cases, with the exception of 8 in which the Target Committee directed that no further action be taken, required general investiga- tions and were referred to other Police formations for enquiries. A summary of action taken against Police officers involved in corruption cases which have been heard in Court or dealt with departmentally is as follows:
