Prohibitions: Letters, except one for the addressee; air-guns; arms and parts of arms, except sporting guns (admitted under permit); hair dye containing diamine; rubber balloons; unmanufactured tobacco; woven goods bearing designs in imitation of paper money and so on.

Restrictions apply to the importation of: Cotton and cotton seeds (cotton goods are admitted); drugs and chemical supplies; liqueurs, wines and spirits; plants, parts of plants and bulbs; serums; wireless apparatus. Diamonds may only be imported on production of an import permit, a certificate of origin and a manu- facturer's declaration approved by the official authorities of the country of origin; gold, gold coins and all foreign currency may only be imported under permit from Foreign Exchange Control Committee, Baghdad.

Packing and marking: Parcels containing cinematograph or photographic films or articles made wholly or partly of celluloid must be clearly labelled Celluloid. Import licences are required for many types of goods.

Compensation is not payable for damage to parcels containing liquids liqucfiable substances or glass or other brittle articles.
