(5) morphine, opium, cocaine and other stupifiants; firearms and part thereof; toy pistols; except on production by the sender of a licence or permit issued by the Ministry of Justice, Dublin and subject to the conditions indicated in the licence. Customs charges: A minimum customs duty of 2/6 is levied for each type of dutiable goods contained in a packet or parcel, or £1 Sterling if the packet or parcel contains only goods proved to the satisfaction of the authorities to have been grown, produced or manufactured in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or Canada.
A Customs clearance fee of 1/- is levied on each parcel on which the Customs duty does not exceed 10/- and 2/- on each parcel if the duty exceeds 10/-. Packing: The use of hay, straw or peat and waste of all kinds for packing purposes is prohibited.
Confiscation : Parcels not accompanied by Customs declaration or having a false declaration are liable to confiscation by the Customs.
